MIBSAC celebrates Environment Day with an eco-fair and community cinema

Minera Bateas (MIBSAC) raises awareness about environmental protection with a fair, film, and campaigns in Caylloma for World Environment Day 2025.

Caylloma, June 9, 2025. With the slogan "No plastic pollution," Minera Bateas (MIBSAC) commemorated World Environment Day with multiple awareness-raising activities at its operations and surrounding communities.
On June 8, the Fourth Ecological Fair was held with the participation of contracting companies, who showcased good environmental practices at their stands.
Attendees completed a booklet with stamps to redeem recycled products and participated in activities such as "Green Fashion" and a family TikTok contest.

Additionally, on May 17, a community cinema was held where more than 90 people enjoyed the film The Lorax, along with activities, games using recycled materials, and an environmental commitment board. 1,100 plastic bottles were collected to make eco-friendly bricks.

Lila Vela, head of the Environment Department at MIBSAC, commented: “Environmental education begins with simple, relatable experiences. We seek to involve everyone as agents of change.”

These actions are in addition to other environmental initiatives such as wetlands cleanups and on-site recycling programs, reaffirming Minera Bateas' commitment to sustainability.
